Our mission is to empower a dynamic, inclusive, and borderless global ecosystem - at scale - based on the Algorand blockchain technology.

The Algorand blockchain -- designed by MIT professor and Turing Award winning cryptographer Silvio Micali – is uniquely capable of delivering on the promise of a borderless global economy. ABOUT THE ROLE

The PR industry has been historically very traditional, and the Algorand Foundation is looking for someone who wants to innovate and help form stories. The Head of Communications will lead all outward and inward communications of Algorand Foundation. This is a cross-functional role that requires deploying worldwide strategies that encompass community, brand, PR, social media, product, KOLs, regional communities, DApps and Algorand business development teams. You will play a key role in shaping the Algorand brand and community worldwide and drive our mission of onboarding the next billion users to Web3.

This role reports to the Head of Strategic Communications & Marketing 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and lead overall communications strategy, ensuring it is aligned with the company’s leadership and the Foundations target audience.
• Create engaging narratives surrounding Algorand new features, expansions, and key trends within DeFi space.
• Manage general PR and significant announcements, conferences, podcasts, AMA’s, and other opportunities. Work closely with CEO to identify and pursue the appropriate media outlets and speaking engagements to successfully showcase product differentiation in the competitive landscape
• Lead a robust media relations function, delivering exceptional results by nurturing strong working relationships with blockchain media, journalists, media personalities, KOLs, industry leaders, organizations, and media outlets.
• Leverage both earned and owned channels to ensure that product is valued appropriately in the eyes of users, employees, investors, the media, and influencers as an industry leader. Secure consistent publication in mainstream media for Algorand Foundation and the ecosystem 
• Work closely with stakeholders on topic development, comms strategy and marketing efforts to ensure a consistent and engaging story that supports the Algorand brand.
• Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance Algorand brand identity; broaden awareness of its products; and increase the visibility of the products across key stakeholder audiences
• You will be responsible for managing our extensive thought leadership program, placing Algorand executives on various industry stages around the globe. In addition, you will help evaluate, identify and negotiate sponsorships, manage industry awards submissions, and operate as the key industry liaison across a wide variety of Algorand teams. 
• Deal with crisis management as and when required

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 15+ years of professional work experience 
• 5+ years experience in Social Media and Community Management
• 5+ years experience in PR Agency
• Superb and world class written and verbal communication skills in English 
• Past experience managing a global team
• Ability to manage multiple global or local PR Agencies
• Experience creating, articulating and deploying communication plans for senior leadership and partners
• A desire to learn and stay on top of emerging technologies and trends, consistently enhance programs, and bring new ideas to the table
• Exceptional eye for detail
• Demonstrated skills in building relationships with Journalists, Media personalities, Influencers, Industry leaders, Organizations, and Media outlets
• Advanced crisis management and under pressure communications
• Experience working under tight deadlines and fast paced environments

GOOD TO HAVE

• Proficiency in another language such as Mandarin, Spanish, French, German. 
• Having your own database and established contacts in the media
• Experience in Music, Entertainment or Sports Industry
